Tik Tok’n With Fred.

November 30, 2009

on our extremely long car ride back from Virginia today MeatWhistle and i had the chance to actually listen to the car radio for the first time in months. one song that we surprisingly hadn’t heard before was Ke$ha’s Tik Tok song. she has a real Uffie feel to the way she sings. after doing a little digging, i found this Fred Falke remix that i thoroughly enjoy. give it a download below!

WHAT WERE YOU FOR HALLOWEEN!?

November 3, 2009

the title says it all. what was everyone for Halloween? i hope everyone had as much fun as myself and friends did this year. we ended up celebrating in Athens, Ohio for their insane bazillion people Halloween extravaganza. people were running a muck in costumes throughout the streets. below is a vid someone took and put on youtube to show how many people were there.

i’m interested in what YOU were for Halloween. we saw some amazing costumes this past weekend, but we were WAY too sloppy to carry around my friends expensive DSLR and not let it get destroyed.

ZOMGROB & MeatWhistle as the famous Italian DJs: The Bloody Beetroots. Thanks to our friend Mike P for the picture.

one thing that i’ve been having SO much fun doing is going through random “Halloween 09″ albums that my friends are tagged in on Facebook. i’m going to use this post to show a few costumes that i personally enjoyed and found very awesome.

Random Hot Dog Day Grinders.

May 4, 2009

yes, the SickDamage crew did in fact visit Hot Dog Weekend in Alfred, NY a few weeks ago. the reason we haven’t talked about it much is because we barely remember it. what we do remember was amazing though.

out of our group, two of our friends were almost arrested for open containers out in the public, and one lucky friend even got rushed to the hospital because of serious intoxication. you know what they say, it’s not a Sick Damage experience unless it’s a near death experience. don’t worry though, those friends of ours were not direct authors of Sick Damage and will go un-named. tainted youth these days…

since we were so inebriated that weekend noone was in any condition to carry a camera. the parties were awesome, and there were tons of people. a photographer by the name of Andrew Lipovsky was kind enough to take some pics of us doing the infamous Sick Damage “Grinder” pose a bazillion times.

here are some of those pictures for your enjoyment. lol.

GIRL TALK IN ITHACA!

April 7, 2009

so myself, MeatWhistle, and another friend of mine Ben just got back today from our trip to Ithaca, NY to see Greg Gillis (Girl Talk) perform his set at Cornell. firstly, i want to say that this whole weekend was insanely fun. i never realized how entertaining the isolated utopia that is Ithaca really was. college town’s really do own no matter where you go.

we arrived there a day in advance. we ended up hitting some random frat party saturday night. it was immense. they had two DJs playing; one on each floor. one of the DJs was this guy named Dave and the other was MCDeathbear’s friend DJ Fuzzyduck. electro and some dubstep was played throughout the night and the dance floor was packed. the best part of this party was that everything was 100% free. you can never say no to free beer. :p

finally sunday came along. yes, the Girl Talk show was on a sunday. this was their first mistake. Greg did an amazing job, and the place was packed. i can’t really say if it was packed with the right crowd though. there is definitely a big difference between a show held at a college, and a show held elsewhere. either way, it was still pretty crazy.

Greg played some awesome stuff that we’ve all heard from his fantastic “Feed The Animals” album as well as some new content that we have never heard before! from what i remember, all of the new mashups sounded great. he even played some of his older experimental work towards the end.
