yes, the Sick Damage crew will be at the Anime Next 2011 Convention as usual. we consider this our “home con”. it was my first con ever and there will always be a place for it deep in my heart. on top of that, it’s John Grime’s and I’s BIRTHDAYS that weekend. expect us to be partying hard. we want to hang with you! so be sure to say come through.
Omar from The Wire is clearly ready for my birthday.
oh yeah. the one time of the year we all hit Anime Boston, and boy do we hit it hard. whether it be the countless amount of dollar burgers and Four Lokos being consumed, or the absurd heckling being screamed at local Redsox fans, this is definitely one of our all-time favorite conventions. as usual, we have a massive crew with us including: ZOMGROB, NickTheTorpedo, PC Chris, MCDEATHBEAR, MaltDisney, DJ Bones, John Grimes, and many others!
be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter Account. we all should be tweeting somewhat regularly to it. as always, if you see us, be sure to hey hi, we don’t bite. hope to see you all there. <3
for those of you who didn’t know, Katsucon is an annual anime/manga/video game convention spanning throughout this whole upcoming weekend. but that’s not all, the SickDamage crew will be there as well! it’s been two years since we’ve been to this bizarre toon town of a weekend in Virginia. there will be a ton of familiar faces including ZOMGROB, NickTheTorpedo, MCDEATHBEAR, PC Chris, Radical Kiba, Thirsty Owl, Dana, John Grimes and many others. while a lot of you probably dread seeing us storming through the hallways of the busy hotel, we certainly can’t wait to see you all.
if you spot any of us at any point in time this weekend, don’t be shy. come up and say hey. as wild as we may seem, we’re extremely friendly and would love to get to know you.
this is one of the few conventions that we will have a boombox with us at all times. because of this, i took the time to put together a specific Sick Damage Katsucon 2011 Mixtape for all of your enjoyment! ranging from electro, dutch house, eurobeat, mashup and chiptune, there’s a little something in it for everyone who likes to get down. these songs were handpicked out of some of our absolute favorites. playing this mixtape is guaranteed to get your party bumpin’.
the mixtape contains 101 songs in a .zip file. give it a download below:
Full Mixtape Now Availible Upon Request
on top of constant dancing, hotel room parties, and absurd half-ass’d costume ideas, we will be taking photos with anyone who catches our eye. be sure to check back here after the weekend to see if you made the cut!
The EAT THE WEAK art show and after party were MASSIVE successes! DOPE Art, Break Dancing, and an Electro/Dubstep/Chiptune Dance party!? Now MC DEATH BEAR, he keeps it BRUTAL, BRUTAL! Over 150 people throughout the night came to the after party to dance on graves! Thank you to everyone who came out for the support in helping me bring the RAD to this town. To the awesome people came out and RAGED and to the people who keep contacting me about when the next electro dance show I’ll be hosting will be…. mark this date down, MARCH 26TH @ Deliah’s ITHACA IS DEAD! Already booked up, DJ’s and more info TBA soon!
finally, a group of passionate gamers have brought together all the things we love so very much. drinking, electro music, and video games. Insert Coin(s) is located in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is exactly the kind of place Sick Damage wants to visit. while there have been other gaming oriented social venues in the past such as Brooklyn’s famous Barcade, what I like about Insert Coin(s) is that they are catering to both the casual and hardcore gamer.
The bar/lounge will have both arcade machines and popular console games. they’ll also be hosting numerous major competitive gaming tournaments. specifically Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3. Capcom is aware of the venue and supports the idea.
check out the video below to get a feel for the environment they provide.
this place looks like a blast and i’m sure many of you agree with me when I say we need something like this in New York City. not a casual Dave & Busters or Barcade, but a place to party hard, and game even harder.
who remembers EuroDance music? you know, stuff like Cascada, Eiffel 65, Scooter, and Basshunter. a lot of the SickDamage crew used to rock out to these 90′s dance beats way before there was electro and dutch-house to rage to.
if you haven’t heard, Malt Disney and I have recently started spinning as EuroDance DJs, Lombardi McCloud! what we lack in mixing experience, we make up for with absurd MCing and awesome 90′s EuroDance music. (and yes, our name came from the last names of Falco and Fox from Star Fox.)
below, is an old favorite mixtape of mine, Studio 33 The 87th Story. while this mixtape wasn’t done by us, it will give you a good idea of the kind of music Lombardi McCloud spins.
The world is quite plentiful with amazing phenomenons, especially the Loy Krathong festival in Mae Jo, Thailand. It’s a beautiful event with a main attraction of 10,000 floating lanterns over the darkened night sky. Check it out for yourself below! It’s definitely something I plan on experiencing before the grim reaper comes to visit me ;)
