So I was compiling the list for today’s greatest videos, when I realised that so far they were all, quite frankly, completely barmy. So I built the rest of the list around the idea. There are many missing no doubt but it’s my list and if you don’t like it you can shove it up your bum.
#1. Danger! High Voltage – Electric Six.
I love this video. I remember seeing it and being scared of the woman in it. This is directed by the same guys who directed The Avalanches Frontier Psychiatrist, seen in the previous part of Greatest Videos Ever. Don’t think this video is bonkers enough? The “girl” voice is actually Jack White. Yeah. Exactly.

#2. Smack My Bitch Up – The Prodigy
Just watch the whole thing. You’ll see.
I used to stay up just to be able to watch this video since it was aired way later, after previously being banned from airing due to it’s contraversial nature.

#3. Nine Inch Nails – Closer (NSFW)
Nine Inch Nails have some of the weirdest videos ever. Before Marilyn Manson came around these guys were the bad boys of music videos. This video is just plain weird. It was Directed by Mark Romanek. It was between this and Happiness in Slavery (even more NSFW) but I don’t think it’s as good a video. Closer is more interesting and weirder. Happiness in Slavery is just a faux Snuff film put to music.

#4. Where’s Your Head At – Basement Jaxx
This is another video that makes you feel like you’re tripping balls. It’s always made me laugh, especially when the Scientist is making the paper monkey dance.

#5. Come to Daddy – Aphex Twin.
The first time I saw this video I almost shat bricks, it was during the night and I was about 7 I think and it was close to Halloween. It was a very WTF moment. The music wasn’t much help either.

I was going to include Rubber Johnny which is even freakier but it’s a short film with music to it so it doesn’t really count.

It actually influenced a drinking advert here. I remember seeing it and yelling “THEY RIPPED OFF THE PRODIGY!” and everyone just staring at me as if I was nuts.
