so today Capcom of Japan announced that Street Fighter 4 would be getting an update known as “Championship Mode.” this mode will be hitting Japan on April 24th and probably the US soon after. basically it will be adding the following things:
- Online tournaments that are divided into 5 different difficulty levels. which level of tournament you gain access to is determined by the amount of GP (Grade Points) you have accumulated.
- When you win a tournament you receive CP (Championship Points, not the other thing LOL.) the top 5,000 players with the highest CP will be given the option to upload their replays to Capcom’s servers for players on both Xbox 360 and PS3 to view.
- PS3 users get a unique feature in which they can vote if parts of replays are Funny, Awesome, or Beautiful.
- Xbox 360 users also get a unique feature in which they can save the replays to their consoles and see which buttons the players are inputting during their match.
- This new and upcoming update will be 100% FREE!
why they chose to give the xbox and ps3 users different features i dont know. but i do know that i’m really glad they’re already improving and updating the game’s online features. maybe a patch to balance out select characters will be coming in the future as well? who knows!
