Sometimes, between all the drunken raves and video game reviews, its easy to lose that integral connection to society. The contentious observer asks “Mitch, What can SickDamage do to help society? I like hearing about MSTRKRFT and Carnage just fine, but can’t I hear about something with more meaning?”
To that “contentious observer” I say “Fuck you ass-twat, We care…”
And here is some proof, or to be fancy, we’ll call it the “Sick Damage Initiative*”:
(also, PIRATES.)
Tweenbots
Tweenbots are little robots that do one sole function: Move forward in a straight line. Their objective, to get from point a to point b. Their purpose, to study how busy NYC commuters interact with their surroundings when presented with a small cute cardboard robot that depends on human help to make sure it’s going the right way. Kacie Kinzer thought this up for her ITP thesis. The little robots are equipped with a small flag out the top saying “Help Me!” along with an address for their location. Check out the super cute video on her website. interesting stuff.
See The Opportunity
http://www.see-the-opportunity.com/
Sick of hearing the word opportunity? this is a little Firefox extension by Leo Burnett (really famous advertising agency) that changes the word opportunity every time it appears on a page to opportunity. hopefully it’ll bring some optimism. If not, it makes the CNN homepage look hilarious.
Pirates
Nothing is more near and dear to my heart as the stuggle of our neighbors to the seas. PIRATES.
Arrrrrrrrrg.
*Sick Damage and it’s affiliates take no responsibility or claim any involvement in stated social initiatives. AKA we’re lazy
