i have to say, living in Buffalo, New York has been quite an interesting time for me. i’ve been able to meet tons of fun new hip people and attend a lot of the electro and authentic events around the city. one game that my friends and i some how accidentally created to keep ourselves occupied at these events is called “The Red Stripe Banditos.”

“Red Stripe is a Jamaican lager-style beer whose logo is a bold, diagonal red stripe. It is brewed by Desnoes & Geddes Limited, originally a soft drink manufacturer incorporated on July 31, 1918, by Kingston, Jamaica, natives Eugene Peter Desnoes and Thomas Hargreaves Geddes. In its current formulation Red Stripe is 4.7% alcohol by volume.”

How this game works is very simple.

Step 1. Become extremely inebreiated off any type of liquor/beer/sparks that IS NOT Red Stripe.

Step 2. Gather together all your fellow bros/brosephs/brosettes/bromeos.

Step 3. Make your way over to an authentic dance party/frat house/house party/bar event.

Step 4. Proceed to do whatever it is you do at your desired event while continuously getting more belligerent with your banditos.

Step 5. Once the first Red Stripe beer is spotted, the first person to steal that bottle and successfully drink its contents gains one point.

(notice the “chode” shape of the bottle for easy snatching. Also, the Red Stripe has to be at least 1/3rd full and previously opened by a random non-bandito for the point to count.)

Step 6. By the end of the night, tally up all earned points to declare a winner. Winner then proceeds to vomit due to excessive drinking/self disgust.

and there you have it. the simple, yet effective rules of becoming a true Red Stripe Bandito!

UPDATE: A new rule has recently been added to the game. If you steal a Red Stripe WHILE the stranger is drinking it, it will count as 2 points instead of 1.

(Warning: you may be shot/shanked/catch some kind of disease in the process of playing of this game.)

and remember kids,

THE ONLY RED STRIPE WORTH DRINKING IS A STOLEN RED STRIPE.

(otherwise they just taste like burnt wood.)
